Almond Chess Squares
2 1/2 c Sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c Reduced-calorie margarine; melted
1 tb Water
1 1/2 ts Almond extract
1 ts Imitation butter flavoring
3 Egg whites
1 Egg
18 1/4 oz Light yellow cake mix
8 oz Nonfat cream cheese; softened
Vegetable cooking spray
2 ts Powdered sugar
Combine first 9 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of a mixer until smooth. Pour batter into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden. Let cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons powdered sugar. Yield: 3 dozen (serving size: 1 bar)
